Fine Arts

The field of fine arts is constantly changing, incorporating new mediums and technology, new approaches, and theoretical perspectives. Some fine artists specialize in specific mediums while others take a broad approach and integrate and combine a large variety of mediums. For example, one fine artist may only work in oil painting on canvas, while another may combine sculpture, performance, and digital production.

Our fine arts programs emphasize exploratory and experiential learning, balancing technical training with conceptual thinking. Studying fine arts at WSU is a very hands-on and engaging experience, supported by a robust and challenging curriculum. We welcome students from across the university to discover their creative potential through individual courses, as a minor, or through a degree program.
