Explore, expand and express your creative potential

The College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts (CFPCA) is home to a diverse community of actors, designers, fine artists, musicians, composers, filmmakers, journalists, dancers, communicators and scholars. Our programs provide pathways for learning, growth and career success. From performing on Detroit's stages and interning at local television stations to creating art with youth in the community, CFPCA students have an unparalleled opportunity to apply their classroom learning to the world around them.

On campus, we host a living-learning community in the Thompson; arts and performance studios; the Elaine L. Jacob and Community Arts galleries; our campus station, WAYN Radio; a student newspaper, The South End; and MetroArts Detroit, a TV program produced with Detroit Public Television. We recently opened our state-of-the-art performance complex, the Hilberry Gateway, and the Gretchen Valade Jazz Center is next to open in 2024. These are highly-anticipated facilities that will anchor the performance community in Midtown and offer exceptional opportunities to create, perform and learn.

Come watch a debate, take in a show, attend a concert or immerse yourself in an exhibition. Imagine yourself experiencing these opportunities. Join us and express yourself.

If you have questions about CFPCA programs, feel free to email Kelly Driscoll. If you're an adult learner or transfer student, contact Maya Calloway Richardson.
