Drawing

The Painting and Drawing programs offer a diverse array of courses designed to prepare students pursuing careers in art. They are based on providing a solid foundation in painting and drawing fundamentals through a rich exploration of both traditional and non-traditional media and techniques. Intermediate and advanced courses encourage students to develop a critical and conceptual approach to finding their voice in contemporary art and culture. The programs actively engage the rich Detroit arts community and prioritizes integrating visiting artists, critics and curators into its instruction.
