Honors
The Irvin D. Reid Honors College and the Department of Art and Art History work together to offer several honors options to help you find the best way to fit honors into your program.
Option 1: University Honors
Wayne State's Irvin D. Reid Honors College gives the university's highest-achieving undergraduate students the opportunity to become members of an engaged and dynamic academic community through a curriculum that is challenging, innovative and interdisciplinary. The Honors College helps our most dedicated and ambitious students take full advantage of everything Wayne State University has to offer.

Option 2: Departmental Honors
You may wish to concentrate your energies within your major and depending on the degree program you choose, you may also find that you have a large number of courses to take in your major each semester. Departmental Honors is designed to allow students a more concentrated study and challenge in the core courses required in the major. Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA in the major and 3.3 GPA overall.
Departmental Honors Options:
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art History (15 credits) Option
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) OR Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art (15 credits) Option
- Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Design (15 credits) Option
