Travel awards
For CFPCA travel awards, apply directly to the CFPCA Dean's Office and not through AcademicWorks. Please follow the guidelines provided below for each travel award.
- Anne Harnett Endowed Scholarship in Design:
Italy has produced some of the world's most celebrated designers. If you are interested in studying any aspect of design anywhere in Italy, please review the guidelines for this scholarship. Any part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing who is majoring in a program in the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts may apply.
Funding will only be considered for study that has not taken place by the application deadline. The application must be made in the semester prior to the proposed semester of study. For example, for a January study program (Winter semester), the application must be made in the previous Fall semester by the October 1 deadline. For a Spring/Summer semester or Fall semester study program taking place prior to October 1, the application must be made in the previous Winter semester by the March 1 deadline.
Application Deadline: October 1, Fall and March 1, Spring
- Harriet Kanter Award for Student Development:
Provides funding for individuals or student groups in the areas of art, music, and theatre and dance within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts to participate in professional conferences, off-campus workshops or exhibitions/performance competitions to help them develop more fully as artists/scholars.Grants will generally be made in the range of $200 to $500. Funding will only be considered for projects that have not taken place by the application deadline. Applications must be made the prior semester for projects that will take place before the deadline for the semester in which the project will occur. Example: For a January project (Winter semester), application must be made in the Fall semester by the October 1 deadline. For all spring/summer semester projects or Fall semester projects taking place prior to October 1, application must be made in the Winter semester (March 1 deadline).

- International Council of Fine Arts Deans Endowment for Student International Travel:
Open to the College of Fine, Performing and Communcaiton Arts undergraduates only. Preference given to students enrolled in a recognized study abroad program or who have been selected as a participant in an international professional conference, exhibition or competition in their field of study.Deadline: October 1 for Fall and March 1 for Winter semesters
- Linda L. Moore Endowed Scholarship:
Open to the College of Fine, Performing and Communcaiton Arts undergraduates in good standing with full-time junior or senior credit status. Recognizes scholastic achievement; preference given to students enrolled in a recognized study abroad program or who have been selected as a participant in an international professional conference, exhibition or competition in their field of study. Grants will generally be made in the range of $200$500.Deadline: March 1
- L.M. Reszka Endowed Memorial Scholarship:
The College of Fine, Performing and Communcation Arts students may use this award for travel expenses to Europe to pursue studies in the visual arts in areas of interest related to painting, sculpture, and/or interior architecture and for the tuition allocated to the credits earned for such studies, if any. Open to United States citizens with full-time junior or senior standing and a minimum GPA of 2.0.Deadline: March 1
Application Procedure
Send or hand deliver a letter in which you include:
- Major
- Student ID (nine digit number)
- Mailing address and WSU email
- Academic standing
- Educational activity for which you are requesting funding including a detailed explanation of why you want to participate
- Expected outcomes of the educational activity
- Budget breakdown by expected expenditures (travel, lodging, per diem, program fees, etc.), including personal funds and funds requested or committed from other sources
- Include, as an attachment to your letter, a printout of your WSU transcript (available through Academica).
Please Note:
- Individual students may be granted funds only once per full academic year.
- Students are expected to make a significant contribution from personal funds toward event costs.
- Funding is disbursed through the Office of Student Financial Aid. If the travel does not take place, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
