Art and Design portfolio
A portfolio is not required for art and design admission, but if you have one, send it in with your application! It will help your advisor and instructors get to know you and your work. A portfolio is required for many department scholarships for incoming students.
Follow these four tips then planning your portfolio:
- Always submit your best work that represents your skill set.
- It is good to include between 5-10 pieces in a portfolio to show the range of your talents and interests in the visual arts and design.
- Make sure your images look great, that the work you are documenting is well lit, well positioned, and easy to see. Include detail shots for parts that you really want to highlight.
- Provide a short description for each piece, for example a title, the size, medium, or other materials used to make it.
