Parking/Public TransitPhoto of the People Mover

Parking is available in Parking Structure 2, with an entrance clearance of 6’6”. For taller vehicles, please use Lot 50, which is a surface lot. Both locations are $9.00 per entrance, credit card payment only. We will have parking attendants available at both locations in the mornings to assist you. When paying on your way into the structure, be patient with the payment systems. You might have to swipe your card more than once or wait on some lag. You will not be charged multiple times if you swipe more than once.

If you have larger vehicles that cannot fit in a lot (e.g., a bus), please contact Ron Stevenson, the Director of Forensics, at rstevenson@wayne.edu and he can make arrangements with WSU police.

Buses can drop off at three locations: Manoogian Hall (bus should turn onto the Lodge Service drive immediately behind Manoogian. There is a loading dock at the second set of doors), State Hall (off of Cass Avenue), and intersection of Anthony Wayne Drive and W. Kirby Street (in front of Faculty Administration Building (FAB) and University Tower Suites). There is a bus stop there, but commercial buses can pull up before or after the bus stop.

Street parking is available around campus for short stops. If you plan to do much street parking around the city, we recommend using the Park Detroit app. Please pay special attention to no/restricted parking signs. Our parking authority is very aggressive and the fines are expensive.

Rather than leave the parking structures/lots for trips downtown from campus, we suggest using the free Qline streetcar service. It runs down Woodward Avenue, the main thoroughfare from campus to downtown. A Qline stop is located at the intersection of Warren and Woodward Avenues, not far from Old Main and STEM buildings.

Using eduroam, Wayne State University faculty, staff and students can access wireless networks at eduroam member institutions using their WSU credentials (i.e., University of Michigan, Michigan State University, etc.). Similarly, campus visitors from institutions that participate in eduroam can use their own institutional credentials to connect to eduroam while visiting Wayne State.

  • Please see more detailed information on how to connect and use Eduroam here: What is Eduroam and how do I use it? - Computing & Information Technology
