JON STRAND: ORACLES, TEMPLES AND WAVES"¦ and a dragon called Raoul

The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History is pleased to present JON STRAND: ORACLES, TEMPLES AND WAVES… and a dragon called Raoul, August 3 through August 24, 2018. The opening reception will be held on Friday, August 3, 5-8PM.

This exhibition is all about collaboration. Collaboration is the most important aspect according to Jon Strand, who has been making art for 52 years (42 years at his studio in Detroit). Strand is very grateful for his art-making constituents who have helped him throughout his career. Strand's mastery of various techniques, specifically pointillism, has been well-received by viewers and his works are included in numerous private and public collections.

"It is a privilege to welcome Jon Strand back to Wayne State University, his alma mater, on the occasion of his one-person exhibition: JON STRAND: ORACLES, TEMPLES AND WAVES… and a dragon called Raoul. This exhibition also features the following collaborators:

Bob LaRose, Jeff Hucul, Leslie Ann Pilling... and S. Kay Young, Christine Welch, Judy Adams (and Fabrazzio), Barb Prusak, Sherry Jolls, Stefan and Kathy Graf, Jack Whitehead, Dolly Whitehead and Jo Levett.

This event is free and open to the public. The Art Department Gallery is located at 150 Art Building, 5400 Reuther Mall, Detroit 48202 (near the intersection of Cass Avenue and Kirby Street).
