2018 New York City Theatre Showcase and Alumni Gathering
Wayne State University's College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts' graduating actors will present a series of short scenes at the 2018 New York City Theatre Showcase and Alumni Gathering. The event, designed to display students' talents to agents and other industry professionals, will take place on March 14.
Planning for the showcase is a yearlong activity. Actors begin seeking appropriate material throughout the graduate program, and collaborative efforts are made on a peer level to collect scenes, monologues and songs for the production. This begins in the fall semester of the third year. In the final semester, acting classes focus on staging and producing the showcase.

More about the Actor's Industry Showcase
The Actor's Industry Showcase has run since 2009, with the alumni showcase and reception taking place annually over the last five years. The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance supports the students in producing the acting portion, which is geared to assist actors in building bridges with industry professionals.
As this is a showcase for New York City, those participating must commit to relocation to the New York market. Actors who choose not to participate in the NYC Showcase will be expected to take part in the Detroit Showcase.
