Art Department Gallery

The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History presents the Time Moves in One Direction, Memory Another: Essay'd, Alumni, and the Field of Memory at the Art Department Gallery. Artists featured in the exhibition include Lynne Avadenka, Alex Buzzalini, Sandra Cardew, Ed Fraga, M. Saffell Gardner, Kate Levy, Kathleen Rashid, Ulysses Spencer, Jon Strand, and Andrew Thompson. http://art.wayne.edu

Don't miss CFPCA's Winter Art Market! The Winter Art Market (WARM) is a venue for current students of the James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History to showcase their original work. The market will be held in a heated tent in the heart of the Noel Night activities and a place to sell limited-edition items and one-of-a-king objects. WARM is a collaboration between the WSU Office of Economic Development, the James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History and TechTown Detroit.

3:00 & 8 :00 p.m. - A Christmas Carol based on the novel by Charles Dickens is a spectacular production that brings our Hilberry, Bonstelle, and Allesee Dance Companies together on one stage. Capture the holiday spirit with this visually stunning event for the family! ($20-25, $10 children and student rate. Children 12 and under receive free admission when you bring two canned goods to a performance. Donated canned goods benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank of Detroit. One admission with purchase of an adult ticket for A Christmas Carol only).

TechTown Reindeer Run

Get ready for a rollicking romp around Midtown in this exhilarating Instagram photo scavenger hunt. Your team of two or more will decipher clues that will lead you to Noel Night destinations--what better way to see the sights! Take a selfie of your team (or get a bystander to snap the photo) with the "answer" and hashtag the photo. We'll keep score! Teams with all the correct photo answers will be entered into a random drawing for three jolly packs of prizes. Complete instructions and clues will be provided at check-in. Find our table inside the big, heated Winter Art and Retail Market tent at the corner of Woodward and Warren Avenue.

Start when you want, follow the clues in any order, and there's no time limit for finishing. Need not be present to win. Winners will be notified on Monday, December 5.
