FPC 1100: BASIC COMPUTER LITERACY (ONLINE)

The College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University is accepting applications for inclusion in Part-Time Faculty hiring pools in the area of basic computer literacy in the arts. Through this course students should be able to use file and word-processing software, access University online computer systems, perform simple on-line retrieval tasks, and develop a basic competence in image manipulation and audio computer applications.

Part‐time faculty members generally teach one course and occasionally two courses per semester. In the Computer Literacy area, a two‐credit online course can involve four contact hours per week. Part‐time faculty are responsible for instructing students online, evaluating student work completed in the course, and holding "online" office hours on a regular basis.

To be eligible for consideration, a candidate should have an appropriate terminal degree and experience in using computers in the arts. Candidates should submit a portfolio including the following: a letter of application, curriculum vita, a short statement of teaching philosophy of not more than one page in length, and a CD containing 10 examples of computer based work. Applicants who would like their materials returned after review should include a SASE. Wayne State University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Minorities and Women are encouraged to apply.
