CFPCA: Program Excellence

In its Midtown Detroit setting of cultural diversity and advanced technologies, Wayne State's College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts enables students to benefit from expert faculty and state of the art resources and to win top rankings in national and international competitions and tournaments.

CFPCA is the cultural gateway of Wayne State University, connecting the university's 28,000 students and 7,000 employees to the community and to the museums, galleries, libraries, theatres and other venues where CFPCA's 2,200 students exhibit work, present research and perform on stage and in concert. There also are opportunities to intern with some of Metro Detroit's top companies in advertising, public relations, journalism and other industries.

  • The Hilberry Theatre, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, is the nation’s first and longest-running university graduate repertory theatre.
